Ramsdale made 25 saves this month and kept clean sheets as United closed out their season with victories at Everton and at home to Burnley. The young England goalkeeper was crowned United’s player of the season ahead of kick-off against the Clarets.

Ramsdale is up against some strong competition for the award, with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, Gareth Bale of Spurs, Christian Benteke of Crystal Palace, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe, Rodrigo of Leeds and Newcastle’s Arsenal loanee Joe Willock also on the shortlist.

Ramsdale has been one of the shining lights for United in a disappointing season, which ended in relegation after a two-year stay in the Premier League, and beat David McGoldrick to the player of the year award.
