The hosts had gone in front after just five minutes but 17 year-old Parkhouse sparked a late fight back by scoring with 15 minutes remaining.
The United under 18 player was then brought down in the box in injury time and Hartlepool's Liam Donnelly rifled home the penalty to secure all three points.
