Sheffield United won't be facing Aston Villa's key man on Saturday

Tyrone Mings pulled up injured against Leicester on Sunday and it’s been confirmed the England international will miss Villa’s trip to Bramall Lane.

Indeed, Dean Smith is likely to be without his defender for the rest of this year with the hamstring injury.

Mings felt the pull but initially played on. His inability to run led to Jamie Vardy scoring and soon after he was replaced.

“He's never had a muscle injury before," Smith said. "The message I got from the medical staff was that he wanted to carry on.

"He felt it might've been cramp and not a muscle injury, so we carried on. We'll wait for a scan. It's a hamstring injury of some sort and we'll find out exactly what he's done."

United are expecting striker Lys Mousset will be avilable, as confirmed by Chris WIlder.
