Sheffield United: Why Ollie Norwood says Blades can follow Wolverhampton Wanderers' lead in Premier League after 1-1 draw at Molineux

Ollie Norwood believes Sheffield United can follow in Wolverhampton Wanderers' footsteps in the Premier League after the two sides drew 1-1 at Molineux on Saturday.

United acquitted themselves well against Wolves, who are in the Europa League and pushing for another impressive finish in the top-flight table.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s men won the 2017/18 Championship title before finishing seventh in their first Premier League campaign, sealing an European place in the process.

And although Norwood stopped short of predicting that Chris Wilder’s humble Blades could repeat that feat – Sunday’s draw left them seventh in the table after 14 games – he admited that Wolves are a possible source of inspiration as the Blades look to push on.

“It's a point gained away from home,” insisted Norwood, speaking ahead of Thursday’s home clash against Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United.

“Wolves are a top side and it's a difficult place to come. I don't think there will be many teams come here this season and win. We've got to take the point and move on to Thursday.

“Playing Wolves was right up there with the biggest tests we've faced this season. They're in Europe, they had a wonderful first season last year and they're a top team. It's a good point and another point in the right direction.

“They're a team who came up last season, established themselves and look like they're going to stay up again. They're a good side and it's a decent point.

“We've got to look at how they do it and maybe try and do that ourselves.”
