Sheffield United weigh up January move for duo as West Brom draw up managerial shortlist
Sheffield United travel to in-form Southampton on Sunday hoping to claim their first victory of the season at the 12th attempt.
And as the January transfer window edges closer, Chris Wilder has been open in his desire to strengthen his squad – particularly in central defence.
Jack O’Connell’s potentially season-ending injury has left the Blades short, and the Daily Mail claims Manchester United's Marcos Rojo or Preston North End's Ben Davies are being considered.
Both players were linked with a move to Bramall Lane last summer but Rojo’s £80,000-a-week wages proved an obstacle, while Preston valued Davies at around £10million.
All that, however, could change in January as United bid to retain their top-flight status.
