DANNY Wilson will step up preparation today for Saturday’s home game with Bury by pondering all options as he looks to fill two vacancies in his starting line-up.

In view of the personnel available to him, he may even look at a possible change in formation against the side second-bottom.

Whereas he has one or two options from the club’s pool of youngsters to replace Michael Doyle in midfield, such a move would then mean adding an inexperienced player and he had three other relatively inexperienced players - David McAllister, Nick Blackman and John Cofie - in the starting line-up at Scunthorpe.

With the wide role of Ryan Flynn to fill - and he has been figuring on the left - he has one or two possibilities and could consider re-positioning one of his front players and then calling up Richard Cresswell.

Shaun Miller could come into the reckoning whilst Dave Kitson should make his first appearance in the squad.

But it will be getting round the Doyle vacancy, and the particular role he has and job he does, which will be testing Wilson’s tactical nous the most whichever route he takes.

The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie away to Keith Curle’s Notts County has been moved for live Sky TV. It has been put back to the following week and is now on Wednesday, October 17 (7.45).

United romped to a 5-1 win over Barnsley in their Under 21 clash at Shirecliffe. Danny Philliskirk scored twice - the first and last goals - with the others from Chris Salt, Erik Tonne and Jordan Chappell.
