Blades v Carlisle LIVE from the EFL Cup

SJ on Jebbison leaving on loan

When one guy is out, it’s a chance for all the players and Jebbo is one of the important products from our academy and we believe he has to be on the field, that’s the only reason we’re thinking about loaning him. The quality is there, but he needs to play games and I don’t know if I have the space for him. I believe he can go out on loan.

SJ on Brewster continued

One goal is not enough, he showed in training he is a quality striker and can score goals, today I had a sensation he could score some more if he is more calm. We tried to up his confidence and he is a young player, he has great potential and has experience at this level, the Championship. Our expectation is high.

Slavisa’s post-match reaction...

On match-winner Brewster...

It’s a big moment for the team, his first goal for the club. We expect he can help us a lot this year and all the years he is with us.

and the Blades are into the hat for the second round after victory over Carlisle - they were decent value for it, for me, even if Carlisle could have nicked something late on and took it to penalties. The big positive of course being Brewster’s first goal in Blades colours, and the hope will be that it sparks something of a run now for him with the inevitable confidence boost it will bring. Stay tuned for a full match report, player ratings, post-match reaction and more

as Norrington-Davies is punished, it’s in a decent position and the away fans are getting a bit excited as we tick into stoppage time - but it’s overhit and sails wide of Verrips’ post

for Carlisle to equalise in the 89th minute as a cross from the left finds Abrahams in a yard of space, he connects well but can only head it over Verrips’ bar and kicks the advertising hoarding in frustration - a huge moment for the visitors and they should really have taken this game to penalties

There’s the big chance

as the ball falls to Mampala in the box after a bit of a scramble, he hits it on the turn looking for the top corner and gets it wrong, putting it over Verrips’ bar - that could be their big chance of the closing moments here as the clock ticks past the 83 minute mark

as Abrahams looks to get away down the Carlisle left - the visitors aren’t out of this one yet and at only 1-0 down with 10 minutes left, they might fancy their chances of nicking one ...

Verrips saves comfortably

as Mampala looks to curl one past him but can only direct it straight at the goalkeeper - he’ll collect those all day long

Jebbison gets in behind

and latches onto McBurnie’s pass but the linesman has his flag up for offside
