Chris Wilder expects Kean Bryan to leave Sheffield United on loan today after expressing his surprise that he has fielded no enquiries for striker Leon Clarke.

Whilst Bryan is on the verge of a loan deal away from Bramall Lane, with Charlton previously linked with his signing, Clarke has attracted no offers ahead of tomorrow night's 11pm transfer deadline.

Wilder described himself as "genuinely surprised" at that fact, adding: "I think Leon would be a brilliant January signing.

"He's trained with us right the way through and his attitude has been spot on.

"If he doesn’t go we’ll see where we are in terms of the 25 man squad and if we need a spot filling, he’ll be a part of that.

"But I wouldn't be surprised if someone came in for him before the deadline because, if you need to get out of a division or stay in it, he'd be ideal.

"I'm not saying this to move him out; I'm being honest from my point of view, in terms of how Leon has been for us - as a player, and as a boy."
