Sheffield United transfer news: Bramall Lane target set for move, Blades prepare deal for 21-year-old

Sheffield United could be relegated from the Premier League on Saturday if results don’t go their way.

The Blades’ top flight status is hanging by a thread, and they could be consigned to the drop this weekend if Newcastle United beat West Ham and they fail to beat Wolves.

United struggled in their last outing, slumping to a 3-0 defeat against Arsenal, and are now on a run of four consecutive losses.

Assessing his side’s bleak situation, interim boss Paul Heckingbottom said: “In terms of being in this situation, it’s new to me and to a lot of people.

“There has been a sense of inevitability about this moment, be that players, staff or fans. Whilst we understand it’s out of our hands, it doesn’t help performances.

“It’s always been a noose around our neck that has been dragging us down. The situation hasn’t changed. We’re not going to change our approach.”

Sheffield United are currently 18 points adrift of safety with seven games left to play.

Their last meeting with Wolves, on the opening weekend of the season, ended in a 2-0 win for Wanderers.

Goals from Raul Jimenez and Romain Saiss, both coming within the opening six minutes, were enough to secure the result for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.

United did, however, take four points from a possible six against Wolves last term.
