Sheffield United transfer news: Blades target to cost £10m, West Ham favourites to sign £20m-rated star

Sheffield United have a busy summer ahead of them, as they prepare to battle for a number of key signings to help propel them out of the Championship, while also looking to hold on to a number of their key players.

United striker Oli McBurnie is one player who's been tipped to move on, with Scottish Premiership champions said to be keen on the ex-Swansea City marksman, while Blades midfielder Sander Berge is expected to leave, with Arsenal - who missed out on European football by one point - among the favourites to land the Norway international.

Meanwhile, United and Republic of Ireland ace John Egan has been reflecting on his country's struggles in the World Cup qualification campaign, and said: “Obviously, it was far from the start that we wanted, but we are still only two games in and anything can happen.

“It's going to be tough (to secure qualification), there's no doubt about that. We're definitely outsiders now, but all we can do is to look to the next game and try to get a result.

“You never know - if you get a bit of momentum, you never know. For me, it's all about the next game. At the end of the day, it's a results business, we know that. We want to win games, we want to give the country a team that they are proud to support and proud to watch.”

Here are today's biggest transfer stories and the latest team news involving Sheffield United and the rest of the Championship, as the reaction to last season and the build-up to summer transfer window continues:
