Sheffield United transfer latest: Billy Sharp talk, Danny Rose and Jesse Lingard latest, Blades' rivals eye deals that could leave Chris Wilder further behind

Sheffield United have a little over five days to conclude any late transfer deals.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has admitted his team just produce something “extraordinary” to avoid being relegated from the Premier League.

Wilder’s side prepared for tonight’s match at title-contenders Manchester United 12 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table, after winning only once in the competition since finishing ninth last term.

Although the 53-year-old is not prepared to admit defeat in the battle to escape the drop just yet, he said: “We have to produce something special to get out of the situation we are in.

"We need to do something out of the ordinary when you look at all the statistics of what’s happened in the past. We need to do something extraordinary in fact.”

In terms of transfers, the field remains fairly quiet in the build-up to the Manchester United game.

Danny Rose continues to be linked with a move to Bramall Lane by the bookmakers, with SkyBet offering odds of 14/1 on the left back linking up with Wilder during the window.

Jesse Lingard, too, is priced at 8/1 with the same outlet as talk swirls around the potential exit of a Blades striker.
