Earlier in the season, Belgian reports suggested that Sheffield United were thwarted in attempts to land Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis last summer, after apparently failing to meet the club's €15m valuation of their player by around €10m.

With the Blades now looking like they could pull off the unprecedented feat of securing European football for next season, in their first top tier campaign in over a decade, the club could well attract a host of new top level talent.

The same source (Het Laatste Nieuws) have now claimed that United are still keen on the forward, as they look to continue strengthening their squad.

However, the Blades aren't alone in their interest, after the player made headlines across Europe after scoring twice against Real Madrid to help his side claim a famous 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu back in October.

The fresh report suggests that Borussia Dortmund are hot on the heels of the Nigeria international, and have earmarked him as the ideal replacement for England ace Jadon Sancho, should the former Man City starlet return to the Premier League at the end of the current campaign.

United are said to still have a keen interest in the player, alongside divisional rivals Brighton & Hove Albion, and Watford.

Belgium proved to be a happy hunting ground for the Blades in the January transfer window, when they plucked Norway international Sander Berge from Genk for a club record fee of £22 million.
