Sheffield United: The tweet that has got Blades fans asking loan star to sign a permanent deal at the club

A tweet from Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has got Blades fans online asking the Manchester United loanee to sign a permanent contract at Bramall Lane.

Henderson joined Chris Wilder’s side in the summer on a season-long loan deal from the Red Devils and has fast become a fan favourite for his stellar performances and the passion he has shown in a Blades shirt.

In a tweet posted ahead of his trip away with England’s under-21s during the international break, the shot stopper wrote: “We’re blades!!! 100”.

The short tweet from the 21-year-old has got United fans hoping he’ll join the top of the table side permanently.

Chopper wrote: “Pls stay forever and ever”, while TheBlades added: “Just terminate your Man U contract and sign for us - you don't need cash just love! Utb”.

One fan, @masonhiggy3, said: “Tell ya somet, if you sign for us, I’m having your face tattooed on me” as others added just one simple word – “sign”.

Henderson came through United’s academy and signed a new contract at Old Trafford in June that should keep him at the club until 2020, with option of a further year extension.

He was named man of the match for his performance in Saturday’s match against Hull City.
