HIGH: For three quarters of the game, and also during its dying embers, Sheffield United were so superior it would have been easy to mistake them for one of the richest clubs in the world and three-time European champions. Manchester United showed their class during seven madcap second-half minutes, when they came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2, but as visiting manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær later acknowledged, they were fortunate to even be in within a shout at that point. Even then, although the visitors should receive credit for exploiting the opportunities United offered them, Chris Wilder's players will probably feel that they were responsible themselves for handing Solskjær's men a route back into the contest. The fact United overcame the psychological blow of falling behind reminded there is probably no more braver or courageous group in the division.

LOW: Other than the scoreline - Sheffield United deserved to win - the only low point of this unforgettable contest was the sight of Lys Mousset hobbling off the pitch after scoring his fourth goal of what promises to be a superb debut season at Bramall Lane. Little was known about the former AFC Bournemouth centre-forward when he arrived in South Yorkshire during the close season. He was by no means the only exceptional United performer. But the £10m Wilder and his employers paid to secure the Frenchman's services looks like a snip now. As they prepare for this weekend's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, United will hope Mousset is only suffering from a tight hamstring rather than something more serious. He could prove to be one of the buys of the Premier League campaign.
