Nigel Clough, the Sheffield United manager, will have to make one enforced change to his starting line-up for the visit of Premier League strugglers Fulham this weekend.
Striker Billy Paynter, on loan from Doncaster Rovers, is cup-tied, having played for United’s South Yorkshire rivals in their FA Cup third round defeat to Stevenage at the start of January.
Clough, looking to bring in reinforcements before their televised fourth round tie with Fulham on Sunday, will have to choose between Chris Porter and Shaun Miller to partner Jose Baxter up front. Both Porter and Miller featured as second-half substitutes in United’s thrilling draw with Bradford City last week. Four-goal forward Porter is in pole position to start, with Miller having failed to find the back of the net in 13 appearances since regaining full fitness following a serious knee injury.
United, meanwhile, will entertain Everton in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday February 11, kick-off 7.45pm, at Bramall Lane. The youngsters have already knocked Oldham Athletic, Worcester City, Bolton Wanderers and Millwall out of the competition.
