Although manager Chris Wilder did not discuss Burke’s situation during his post-match interview, preferring instead to focus on United’s “lack of composure” in key areas of the pitch, the Scotland international seemed to be limping during the closing stages of the first-half and was substituted at the break.

Despite seeing Oli McBurnie mark his return to action following a shoulder issue, Wilder will be keen to ensure Burke is fit to face Shaun Dyche’s side after recalling the former Celtic and RB Leipzig marksman to the starting eleven in recent weeks. Midfielders Sander Berge and John Lundstram will both miss the trip to Turf Moor, while defenders Jack O’Connell and Kean Bryan are also ruled out.
