But, in the Premier League at least, they have some competition in the attacking stakes – from Sheffield United wing-back George Baldock.

The former MK Dons man has now been directly involved in five Premier League goals this season, and scored his second goal and enjoyed his third assist yesterday at Norwich’s Carrow Road in a 2-1 Blades win.

And Baldock’s incredible season so far was highlighted in a tweet from the OptaJoe account.

It read: “George Baldock has been directly involved in five goals in the Premier League this season (two goals and three assists) - among defenders, only Trent Alexander-Arnold (7) and Andy Robertson (6) have been involved in more. Resourceful.”

Baldock revealed after the game the amount of work that goes into the attacking side of his game. Fellow wing-back Enda Stevens scored United’s first goal, from Baldock’s right-wing cross, to cancel-out Alex Tettey’s first-half opener for the hosts.
