With their senior counterparts gaining promotion to the Premier League last season, Derek Geary’s players were handed a bye until the third round stage.

Unbeaten in their last five outings, United’s under-18’s are currently second in their Professional Development League division; five points behind leaders Wigan. They reached the final of the competition in 2011, losing to a Manchester United team containing the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Ravel Morrison, now of United, over two legs.

AFC Wimbledon set-up the meeting with Geary’s squad after beating Hanworth Villa 5-1. The winners of the tie are scheduled to face either Fulham or South Shields.
