Sheffield United star signs new contract until 2023 before crunch Brighton clash

John Fleck has signed a new deal with Sheffield United, tying him to Bramall Lane until 2023.

United confirmed the news before this afternoon’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion, where a win will see them keep the pressure on Chelsea in the race for the Champions League.

Fleck has been a key member of United’s squad which has risen from League One to the Premier League.

"We want to keep our best players at the club and John is certainly one of them,” said boss Chris Wilder.

“So we are thrilled to get this one done.”
