Football Manager 2024 has been released live on Steam through early access and fans of the popular game are already sinking their teeth into the latest edition.
The series is now over 30-years old and an impressive worldwide database of clubs, players and staff gives gamers the opportunity to take charge of their beloved clubs and attempt to guide them to unprecedented successes. Just for fun, we simulated three years into the future with the new game to see how clubs across the Premier League and the rest of the world had fared.
Here is how the Sheffield United starting XI looked in our simulation at the close of the 2026 summer transfer window:
1. GK - Odysseas Vlachodimos
Greece’s first choice stopper had two seasons as back up at Nottingham Forest before the Blades paid £2m for his services in 2025
2. RB - Sael Kumbedi
The young Frenchman looks a real coup, arriving from Lyon for just £2.8m in the 2026 summer window
3. LB - Matt Targett
A regular for Newcastle in 2023/24 but makes just one league appearance the following seasons before United pay £8.5m for his services in the summer of 2025
4. CB - Nathaniel Phillips
The Liverpool defender’s loan at Celtic is followed by a spell with Luton Town before the Blades snap him up on a free transfer in 2025 but he is used mainly as back up in his first season at Bramall Lane
