As ever, all manner of topics will be discussed with the Blades boss and one of his players – here’s some of the key talking points ahead of Sunday’s game.

Man United recap – After a breathless 90 minutes on Sunday, the Blades and the Red Devils couldn’t be separated and Wilder will inevitably be invited to look back at that game before looking forward to Sunday. How have the players reacted in training this week, and what did the late equaliser say about their character and mentality?

Fitness of John Egan – The Republic of Ireland defender missed the game against Manchester United with an unspecified injury and although his replacement, the vastly experienced Phil Jagielka, impressed, Wilder and his coaching staff will be desperate to welcome Egan back into the fold.

Lys Mousset – Likewise with the French striker, who limped off against the Red Devils after pulling up and clutching his hamstring after battling with Victor Lindelof for a long ball over the top. Mousset is now the side’s leading scorer after adding to his tally last weekend, but he adds so much more to United’s game with his pace and power. So his fitness will be vital.

Suspensions John Lundstram is one player walking a disciplinary tightrope after picking up four bookings so far this season. Five, as we all know, means a ban, and United will be loathe to lose one of their most consistent performers so far this season, even if only for a game. Wilder has been quite relaxed on this subject in the past, though, trusting the players to make good decisions.

Rotation – Perhaps with that in mind, and given the time of the year, Wilder will inevitably at some point be asked about his plans for squad rotation. His squad is unquestionably stronger now, so could changes be made without compromising the quality of the starting line-up?

Oli McBurnieWilder touched on the recent struggles of the striker on Sunday, admitting he was “delighted” for McBurnie after a “rough time of it” lately. Has the striker done enough to earn a recall, especially with doubts over Mousset’s fitness and the upcoming Christmas period? Wilder is too savvy to give his team away, but the question will probably come up nonetheless.

Pundit praise – Graeme Souness on Sunday compared the Blades to Barcelona, adding he wants a season ticket at Bramall Lane. Again, he’s far too savvy to let things like this get to his head – but again, don’t be surprised if the question is asked about his reaction to those kind words.
