Sheffield United set to receive striker boost ahead of televised clash with AFC Bournemouth

David McGoldrick is expected to be fit for next Sunday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth after missing Sheffield United's last four games.

The striker, who was an influential member of United's squad as they sealed promotion from the Championship last season, has suffered a foot injury and was a notable absentee from the teamsheet at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

But Chris Wilder, who signed another striker on deadline day in Richairo Živković after allowing Callum Robinson to join Championship promotion-chasers West Brom on loan, expects McGoldrick to be in contention to play against Eddie Howe's Cherries next weekend before the Blades' winter break.

That game is live on BT Sport with a 2pm kick-off.

United will spend their winter break in Dubai, where they will prepare for the final 12 games of the season as they eye an unlikely push for European football after only being promoted to the Premier League last season.
