Sheffield United send young pair out on loan to Tranmere Rovers and Queen of the South

Two of Sheffield United's brightest young prospects have been sent out on loan to gain first-team experience, the club have confirmed.

Midfielder Harvey Gilmour has joined Tranmere Rovers until January, while defender Callum Semple has moved up north to Scottish Championship side Queen of the South.

Gilmour played in United's friendly win over Stocksbridge last week and then had a trial for Rovers in which he featured against Liverpool.

Semple had suffered a serious knee injury but it now fully recovered. He joins Gary Naysmith at Palmerston Park where the former Blade is manager. Semple's contract also runs in til January.
