Have your say

DANNY Wilson has laughed off claims that Sheffield United are a one man team.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine insisted earlier this week that “without Ched Evans” Wil

son’s side are “nothing really”.

But, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with Bournemouth, the United manager said: “Really? That’s fantastic.

“To be honest, I don’t really have anything to say about it.

“That’s someone’s opinion and they’re perfectly entitled to it.

“But I’m not going to bother answering it or get drawn in.”

United are second in the League One table ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with the visitors from Dorset; one place and two points ahead of Wednesday who face fellow contenders Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm Stadium.

Wilson last night acknowledged that his squad are locked in a “four- way shootout” for automatic promotion with

Yorkshire rivals and leaders Charlton Athletic.

Evans, who has scored 31 goals in his previous 39 appearances, is the most potent weapon in United’s attacking armoury.

But commenting on the Wales international’s unveiling as divisional npower Player of the Month, Wilson said: “The reason Ched has endeared himself to everyone here is because of his team ethic. He never gets carried away.”
