Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins has been number crunching
The manager believes set-pieces are key and says: "We work hard on set-plays in training and we know that Rochdale set up with a zonal marking system, so we identified that before the game as an area we could maybe exploit. And it worked (against Rochdale); it was a routine straight off the training ground. A good corner, three players attacking it and a textbook header by Neill to win us the game."
As well as the tactics, Adkins says a positive mental attitude can help drive his team to promotion this season.
He said: "It’s about having a positive mental attitude and (Matt Done) has that in abundance. He’s positive in his outlet and we need that. It’s easy to sit in the stands or in the dug-out, on the periphery, but these lads have got to go out there, roll their sleeves up and do the business."
In case you missed it...
Adkins has hailed Che Adams, following the youngster's two-goal haul against Rochdale.
He said: "We’ve got massive hopes for Che and he’s shown he can be a massive player. But we’re trying to nurture all of the younger players and I thought Kieran [Wallace] and Harrison McGahey were superb when they came on."
