Team news: What shape are Aston Villa in ahead of Sheffield United clash

The enforced break to the Premier League season has actually provided something of a boost to Aston Villa’s squad as they prepare to face Sheffield United in the Premier League restart tomorrow night.

McCoist is a huge fan, it seems

Everywhere you turn there are pundits falling over themselves to praise Sheffield United and Chris WIlder and this morning, Ally McCoist added himself to that list, when talking on the Talksport Breakfast SHow with Laura Woods abot United’s chances of picking up a European place.

“They have been fantastic,” said the former Rangers man. "Listen, if they beat Villa they go fifth! It's absolutely ridiculous, if they beat Villa in the first game back they go above Manchester United into fifth position. I just think regardless of what happens now - Chris is clearly saying the things you would expect him to say, he's not one to get carried away and he certainly won't allow his players to get carried away - but inside he will be absolutely thrilled at the position his team's in.

What a season they are having and I genuinely think and hope it will continue. Could they qualify for Europe? You better believe they could. They've been outstanding.
