Sheffield United press conference LIVE ahead of Barnsley clash

Blades youngsters move out on loan

SJ on Reds’ under-pressure manager Schopp

All of us are under some kind of pressure, we live that kind of life. The business is not especially fair and I am sure the guy tries to do his best and lift the level of the team. You never know what can come next. I cannot wish him all the best before we play Barnsley but I understand the situation.

See this as a big chance to take 3 points?

I am always thinking every game is an opportunity for three points. We will check at the end where we deserve to be.

SJ on the local derby

I have managed and played in a lot of derbies. It’s a special day for us and for the Barnsley fans too. We will have a lot of support there and we need to offer our best and do everything we can to win the game.

SJ on picking up results soon

It’s important where we are but I don’t spend a lot of time because a lot of steps are ahead of us. I trust in my people and my work, I am not satisfied how my team is working and I am sure we will find a way to play better football and find the benefits. I expected to be higher than where we are but it’s our realistic situation and we must take responsibility, I am the first guy who needs to do that. A lot of us must do that too.

Accept 17th isn’t good enough at this stage?

We know we have not been good enough, we expected a different start. It’s simple, we can do better and we are working hard. It’s not enough, we need to believe in ourselves and continue with this process. How long? One week, one month, one year more? It depends on the level of the learning, of the power and the quality. Bournemouth are top of the table and the job is not done for them. For us too it is not job done and we must have confidence and trust. A lot of strange things have happened. Not to justify our slow start, we cannot stop.

I never show one guy guilty for something. We can all do a better job, even myself, and we need to continue working to find a better level for the team. We have confidence we can be a better team than we are showing right now and we need to show that in the next game. We believe we can be at a better level, now it’s about being brave and not stopping in the work.

Opportunity for someone else

He won’t be available for the game, we will try to use a different player in the position and that’s it. We are working with a squad of players and people must be ready for different situations and different positions.

SJ on Morgan Gibbs-White’s reaction to his red card

I am not talking to him about the situation, of course it’s an interpretation of the referee’s in the level of the rules. They don’t use this rule always in this situation, he took a decision to show the yellow card and I cannot say anything against it. He had a hot head and calmed down later but that situation can happen.

Any others back from injury?

Baldock is training with the team and is available for the selection at the weekend.
