The Blades suffered their first defeat of the season against Norwich City on Saturday and now face another quick turnaround, with Wilder having to manage a stretched squad and work out the best way of getting his side back to winning ways.
A change of shape could be on the cards, with Wilder admitting on the eve of the trip to Ewood Park that all options are on the table. Tahith Chong, Ryan One and Femi Seriki remain out but Matt Doherty could return after illness.
Wilder has already admitted that sometimes “gut feeling” can play a part in his selection, with Tom Cannon's impressive showing in the League Cup win at Ewood Park two weeks ago potentially giving him something to think about.
So, with Blackburn next up, who should start for United? We have picked the XI we think Wilder could go with - do you think we’ve got it just about right or would you do anything differently?

5. Sam McCallum
McCallum has been a regular in the league and was introduced against Norwich after Harrison Burrows' absence. It's unlikely Norrington-Davies will be risked with two games in a few days, although he was one of United's better performers against Norwich, and McCallum is a good replacement | Sportimage

6. Joe Rothwell
Rothwell watched from the bench on Saturday but this sort of game could be perfect for his experience and composure into midfield. He started and captained United at Ewood Park in the League Cup win, so he has very recent experience of playing there - and United may need his ability to help control a game that Wilder expects to open up after the hour mark. | David Rogers/Getty Images

7. Sydie Peck
Peck has started every league game and remains one of the more reliable midfield options available to Wilder. His energy and willingness to cover ground should be important in the middle of a hectic run of fixtures, although you get the feeling he has not reached top gear yet this season | Sportimage

8. Oliver Arblaster
Arblaster could come back into the midfield after also being used from the bench against Norwich. Wilder has already talked about the need to manage players through a hectic run of games, and Arblaster's energy could be useful in a midfield battle where United need to be better than they were at the weekend. He also gives Wilder another option if he wants to freshen things up. | Sportimage
