Chris Wilder has been toying with the idea of changes to his Sheffield United starting XI all week after Saturday's 5-0 hammering at home to Aston Villa. The Blades boss admitted that question marks would be asked about his decisions in that game, ahead of this weekend's trip to Luton Town.
The Blades kick off at Kenilworth Road bottom of the table and 10 points adrift of the hosts, who are fourth from bottom. Wilder is still without goalkeeper Ivo Grbic and faces a number of big decisions as he looks to elicit a response from his side. We tasked our man to come up with the side he would send out - has he got it just about right, or what would you do differently?
5. Auston Trusty/Rhys Norrington-Davies
A toss up between the two options at left-back. Norrington-Davies is a former Luton man – with home fans bizarrely wound up by his comments about moving to Stoke after leaving Kenilworth Road – and whoever plays will have to be switched on against Luton’s wide threats | Sportimage
6. Vini Souza
United’s defensive enforcer is at his most effective when breaking up play and doing the ‘dirty’ side of the game – and he will need to do that against the in-form Ross Barkley and his teammates to give United a chance | AFP via Getty Images
7. Gus Hamer/Ollie Norwood
Another decision I can’t make in my side. This is a time when characters are needed and Norwood has that in spades, with his inclusion also giving United some more defensive stability as well. But Hamer is the more attacking option and has a bit about him, too | Sportimage
8. Ben Osborn/Tom Davies
Another either/or on the left flank. I wouldn’t fall off my chair in amazement if Andre Brooks started in midfield but for me this is an afternoon for experience, something Osborn and Davies both possess. Osborn guarantees a physical shift and it’s no disrespect to suggest that Davies has more top-flight quality, with Wilder clearly rating him.
