Sheffield United will be looking to build on Tuesday night’s impressive performance in the Carabao Cup against Blackburn when they once again head to South Wales this afternoon.
The Blades picked up a decent 2-1 win at Ewood Park after two 0-0 draws in succession in the Championship against Birmingham City and Swansea City.
Having looked very solid at the back so far, United fans will be looking for some goals in the league and maybe the return of Ben Brereton Diaz can help bring that.
“It's one that everybody be thinking Sheffield United, the record we've had over the past four or five years, what we've achieved, going to a team that's just got promoted really should be a straightforward game,” said Blades boss Chris Wilder on facing Cardiff City. “But I'm always wary of every club and the respect that they all get from every time we play anybody. But especially from a promoted side, that second game at home, looking for their first win.
“They deserved a result at Derby, which is a notoriously difficult place to go and get a result. And a result on the first game against a really talented top side in Wrexham. So, I don't think they've fluked any of their games and they're looking for their first win just as much as we are for ours.”
