Sheffield United overcame some more pre-season profligacy to continue their unbeaten friendly run with a 2-0 win at Rotherham United this afternoon. The Blades created a number of chances in the first half and could have gone into the break at least three or four ahead.
But they took until just before the whistle to go ahead through Tahith Chong, who scored his second in as many games to stake a claim for involvement when the season begins for real.
Callum O’Hare added a second in the second half from long range after letting fly while at the other end, goalkeeper Michael Cooper had to make a couple of smart saves to keep out Jamie Jellis and Aaron Nemane.
Here’s how we rated United’s players in their latest pre-season test as the new season draws ever closer...

13. Oliver Arblaster 5
His first real involvement after coming on was to block a cross with a very painful part of his anatomy, forcing him to take a standing eight count once the ball went out of play soon after | Sheffield United

14. Sydie Peck 5
Half an hour more of valuable minutes for the England U21 international, who has real competition for his place in the side ahead of the new campaign with Arblaster coming back fit | Sportimage

15. Romelle Donovan 5
A bright cameo down the right from the on-loan Brentford man, who teased his defender a few times to earn roars of appreciation from the away fans behind that goal. He also showed his tenacity off the ball to win it back a couple of times and a good late cross almost found the head of One | Sportimage

16. Ryan One 5
A former target of the Millers, One had the chance to show the Millers what they missed out on when he squared up his man one-on-one down the left but a heavy touch after he chopped inside saw the opportunity go begging | Sportimage
