United won 3-1 with two goals in injury time, after goalkeeper Adam Davies had saved a second penalty from Wrexham striker Paul Mullin in an entertaining clash between two promotion-chasing sides in their respective divisions.
Here’s how we rated United’s players in the pulsating clash...

9. James McAtee 6.5
Had a few bright moments and half chances before the game's first big moment when he raced clear after Ndiaye's touch and, as he looked for all the world to score, somehow rolled his shot the wrong side of the post. Great vision to slip in Berge for the third Photo: Gary Oakley

10. Iliman Ndiaye 7
Heavily involved as United fans have come to expect but was left on his haunches after nicking the ball back and sending McAtee clear, only for the loan star to somehow miss. Didn't stop working and probing as he does but couldn't fashion that bit of magic we've seen so often this season Photo: Simon Bellis

11. Billy Sharp 8
Some lovely touches and lay-offs to Blades teammates as United knitted some nice passages of play together, with Sharp ever-willing to come deep and do the dirty work for Ndiaye and McAtee to cause havoc further forward. Had a few good chances, including a one-on-one which Lainton did well to save and a late sight of goal which went over the bar. But then came up with the goods when it mattered before giving some back to the away fans at the final whistle Photo: Gary Oakley

12. Subs: Ollie Norwood 7
Came on for Coulibaly and gave away Wrexham's second penalty of the night, but his blushes were spared when Davies saved Mullin's spot kick. Nice pass over the top set Sharp free late on but he couldn't convert. Should have won a penalty of his own when his shot was palmed away by Lee but the ref gave a corner rather than the spot kick.
