Goals from Oli McBurnie and James McAtee sealed three more points for the Blades, who celebrated again with their travelling support after the game. The Blades fans had earlier made their feelings over Tommy Doyle clear, chanting to the on-loan Manchester City man: “We want you to stay.”
Here’s how we rated United's players in their final-day victory ...
9. John Fleck 6.5
Recalled as one of five changes and was robbed of possession by Bacuna far too easily inside the first minute, with Robinson bailing him out from the cross. But didn't let it affect him too much and was always available and willing to drive forward with the ball, with a lovely pass over the top sending Ndiaye clear Photo: Andrew Yates
10. James McAtee 8
Was unfortunate not to sign off on his United time - for now - with a first-half goal after a lovely curling effort bounced back off the same post that Doyle had hit only moments earlier. But did just that later in the game when he showed good attacking instincts to support Ndiaye's run and then finished into an empty net before delighting the travelling Blades fans with his somersault celebration - which is getting better, but still needs perfecting! Made way immediately for Osula, who had three good chances to score his first Blades goal Photo: Simon Bellis
11. Iliman Ndiaye 8
Made what many Blades fans fear will be his final appearance in a Blades shirt and an early pirouette to send Bielik spinning somewhere towards the direction of Spaghetti Junction was the highlight of a drab first half by some margin. Had a couple of good openings blocked after ghosting past defenders like they weren't there and continued in similar vein throughout Photo: Simon Bellis
12. Oli McBurnie 8
Replaced Jebbison from the start and justified the call with the Blades' opener, with a lovely deft header from Basham's right-wing cross that nestled just inside the far post. Later made way for Sharp, who was desperate to get his 250th league goal - so much so that he berated Osula after he elected to shoot rather than square to the skipper Photo: Matthew Lewis
