Sheffield United had to settle for a share of the spoils against Derby County at Bramall Lane this afternoon as the 10 men Rams denied the Blades’ late push for a winner. The Blades trailed to Bobby Clark’s opener in the first half.
But the game changed when Dion Sanderson saw red after two bookings and United sensed blood after Patrick Bamford’s equaliser, pushing for a winner. Tyrese Campbell saw a shot pushed onto the bar by Jacob Zetterstrom before he denied Sydie Peck superbly in injury time.
Tahith Chong, Harrison Burrows and Campbell again all went close to a winner that would have lifted the roof off Bramall Lane but it never arrived and it was Derby fans who were happier at full time.
Here’s how we rated United’s players on the day...

1. Michael Cooper 7
Made two fine saves before he was eventually beaten by Clark and then didn't have much to do after that. The first was a superb one down to his right to keep out Clark, who will have thought his well-struck effort was flying into the bottom corner before Cooper got down to tip it behind. Not long after he did superbly again to deny Meister as he raced through from an apparently offside position before Cooper blocked, and that gave United a platform to eventually get something from the game | ugc

2. Hamza Choudhury 5
Straight back in at right-back after his suspension and an early bit of hesitation between him and Cooper threatened to cause trouble before Cooper eventually scrambled clear. A good block prevented Meister from testing Cooper after Morris' flick on caused chaos, but Hedges ran off the back of him a little too easily in the build-up to Derby's opener. He was tested by both Meister and Morris as the game went on before making way for the returning Seriki just before the hour to give United some much-needed attacking thrust | ugc

3. Japhet Tanganga 5
Decent chance just after the hour when his header was knocked back to him around the edge of the area but his first-time volley landed in the Kop rather than the Derby goal. A sloppy pass to Seriki saw Wilder scream in frustration as United looked to build on the momentum of their equaliser and push for a winner | ugc

4. Liam Kitching 6
A solid enough afternoon's work for the Coventry loan man, who just went about his business until the first talking point of his game when Ozoh got away from him and Kitching fouled him before kicking the ball away in frustration. Helped get United up the pitch from that left channel when they were searching for a winner | ugc
