Sheffield United: Paul Heckingbottom's press conference updates as Blades prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur
As ever, we’ll have coverage of what the temporary Blades manager has to say, right here in our live blog.
Tottenham Hotspur v Sheffield United LIVE
Blades have looked a lot better
in this second half since the chance of personnel, allowing Basham to revert to his normal position and having a bit more pace about them with Burke
Goal Spurs (ruled out!)
it’s Son who thinks he has made it 2-0 after latching onto a pass, racing clear of Basham and smashing the ball home past Ramsdale - he waited and waited and then drilled home emphatically. VAR are checking for offside and the lines are out... and it’s RULED OUT for offside, very narrowly
Lo Celso goes down
under the challenge from Fleck - it’s the follow-through that has caused it, Fleck caught Lo Celso in the face with his boot as he landed over the top of him and VAR is having a look at it... Fleck could be in trouble here if the VAR sees that as dangerous play... but the check is complete and no action will be taken
Double sub at half-time
for United - Sander Berge is back and Oli Burke is on as well, Bogle and Brewster off - so that’ll be a switch in personnel, with Osborn looking like he’s slotting in at left wing-back
Half-time
and Spurs deservedly lead - United have barely offered a threat going forward and trail to Gareth Bale’s opener 10 minutes or so before half-time.
First 45 player ratings:
Ramsdale 7
Bogle 6
Baldock 6
Egan 6
Basham 6.5
Stevens 6
Norwood 6
Fleck 5
Osborn 6
McGoldrick 5
Brewster 4
Alli shoots
after working the ball nicely with Kane and Son, he looks to bend it into the far corner but Ramsdale holds on comfortably enough. The Blades are still in this game but only just, as the home side are toying with them at the minute as we move into the last minute of three added on at the end of the first half
Lo Celso has a go
from outside the box after a nice bit of interplay involving Kane and Alli, Lo Celso shoots on the sidefoot but he gets too much on it, much to Kane’s visible frustration
Kane takes the free-kick
after Bogle fouled Son, but it’s struck straight into the green wall and Kane then hits the follow-up wide as well
Goal Spurs
and it’s Bale who gets it, finishing over Ramsdale after a superb pass from Aurier over the top of the Blades defence - his run catches the United defence ball watching and he gets a toe on the ball to lob over Ramsdale and in the back of the United net
