Some Leeds team news and it’s a blow for the visitors

Pablo Hernandez remains unavailable…

Bielsa: “Pablo still has two weeks of recovery before he can return. The team will largely be the same, the only possible alternative will be Roberts instead of Rodrigo.”

Jurgen Klopp on Rhian Brewster

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media ahead of Liverpool’s cash with Arsenal on Monday night, this coming after a 7-2 defeat of Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup last night.

The much-changed line-up didn’t contain Rhian Brewster, prompting speculation that the sought-after striker could be very soon on his way.

Brewster is wanted by a number of clubs, including of course Sheffield United and Chris Wilder spoke to us earlier about the chances of him coming to Bramall Lane.

When Klopp was quizzed on the young forward about his absense from the side last night - a match that would in normal circumstances be perfect for gaining first-team game time - he didn’t give an awful lot away.

The Reds boss said: "It should not surprise you. We don't really speak about any transfer rumours. He was not in the squad, you can make of it what you want. We have nothing really to say. No news."

Negotiations between Sheffield United and Liverpool officials over Rhian Brewster remain ongoing, despite making slow progress in recent weeks. (Sheffield Star)

Billy Sharp reveals which of Sheffield United's newest recruits have impressed him most ahead of taking on Leeds United

Sheffield United skipper Billy Sharp has revealed that one of the Blades new players has been getting up close and personal with him since joining the club.

On Leeds’ return to the top flight

"You can’t get away from the fact they are a huge club in English football. It’s great for them to be back in the Premier League.

"They have been out of the division for a long time through reasons, as we have been, for certain reasons. It’s how you adjust to that and deal with that and they are on the front foot and got momentum.

“It’s going to be an interesting game on Sunday, just disappointing there is not a full house to witness it.”

"Ethan comes into the picture, Phil Jagielka comes into the picture, a change of shape might come into the picture.

“Ethan is going to play a big part. It’s Phil’s natural position. There’s decisions to be made.”

Will United appeal Egan’s red card?

“No I won’t because it won’t get turned over. I still believe the decision was the wrong one.”

"We have had some fabulous games against Leeds over the years. It’s a big rivalry… they used to nick our best players in the day. Went toe to toe with them in the Championship and they are a brilliant addition to the Premier League

“The fact that it’s not a packed house is a disappointing aspect for what’s happening in this country but great for both teams to be battling it out.”

"We haven’t changed our philosophy and Leeds haven’t and won’t. We are after our first points and Leeds are after adding to their first three points against Fulham.

“It’s very early days and there are plenty of games to play. It’s a challenge, this is a test of our players, individuals, coaches of when things are not going as well as you want them to.”

A bit more on the search for a striker

“We need to add and the owner understands that. We all have this opinion during lockdown and second part of season that finances would not be heavily invested. That’s gone through window, everyone is adding to their group and it’s important we do in a relative way with what we have to spend.”

"There’s always three main players in signing a player…the player does he want to come? The selling club, do they want to let him go and at what price? And the buying club are they prepared to go to that price?

“These all have to happen. I have identified players and there are things that need to happen from an negotiation point of view above me.”
