'Fantastic' - John Eustace makes Sheffield United squad admission ahead of Derby County clash

Derby County will be looking to seal a Championship play-off place when they take on Sheffield United at Pride Park on Saturday.

Derby County head coach John Eustace is refusing to underestimate Sheffield United as his side goes in search of trying to secure a Championship play-off place at Pride Park on Saturday lunchtime.

The Rams, who were 3-1 winners at Bramall Lane back in November, go into their final day assignment two places and one point shy of the final play-off berth, meaning they must avoid defeat against Chris Wilder’s side to stand any chance of securing a top six spot.

Derby, who beat QPR 3-2 at Loftus Road last time out, have a slightly better goal difference in comparison to sixth-placed Wrexham and seventh-placed Hull City, meaning that could come into play in their quest to extend their campaign by a minimum of two matches.

Winning each of their last six matches at Pride Park, Derby will be confident of getting the better of the Blades and then hoping both Wrexham, who are at home to Middlesbrough, and Hull, who face Norwich City at the MKM Stadium, slip up.

And despite going up against a United side that has lost each of its last two matches, conceding six goals in the process, Eustace is refusing to underestimate the threat Wilder’s side will bring to the table, describing their squad as “fantastic.”

Speaking to RamsTV, Eustace said: “Their squad is fantastic. Chris Wilder is a really experienced top manager at this level, and it certainly won't be an easy game for us.

“They're on the back of two defeats previously to that. They've had two fantastic away wins. This is going to be a really difficult game for us and one that we're really looking forward to.

“We're playing in front of a packed house with fantastic support, and we've got to be as competitive as we can be and see where it takes us.”

Winning six on the bounce on home soil, Eustace is hopeful that will give his team the confidence they need, adding: “It does (give confidence), but of course, in the Championship, every game is difficult to prepare for, every game is difficult to win. This will be no different.

“Of course, we've got good momentum at home, but to win a game in the Championship is very tough, and this won't be any different. It's going to be a really tough afternoon for us, but again, it's one we're really looking forward to.”
