Martyn Woolford could make his first appearance in a Sheffield United jersey at Ilkeston this afternoon, writes James Shield.
The winger, who joined the League One club earlier this week after leaving Millwall, is expected to be included in a squad containing former New Manor Ground youngsters Che Adams and Kieran Wallace.
Nigel Adkins, the United manager, said: “Martyn could potentially be involved. We’ll take a decision on that beforehand because he’s not been with us long.
“The players will get 45 minutes each. There will be two teams in each half.
“That’s the plan going in.
“It will be different opposition to what the players have been up against on the training ground and that’s going to be beneficial.”
Adams, in particular, has proved a huge success since joining United midway through last term and rose to prominence after scoring twice during January’s Capital One Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.
“He’s a very talented footballer,” Adkins said. “That’s for sure.”
