BARRY Robson and Jonathan Forte can bring a “different dynamic” to Sheffield United’s push for promotion, Danny Wilson has insisted.
Wilson made the claim ahead of tomorrow’s League One encounter at Shrewsbury Town which could see the duo make their first starts since arriving in South Yorkshire during last month’s transfer window.
Robson, the former Celtic and Middlesbrough midfielder, signed a short-term contract after severing his ties with Vancouver Whitecaps.
Wilson said: “Barry isn’t blessed with electric pace but he’s electric between the ears and that’s often better in my opinion.
“He plays with his head and with a lot of quality.
“The way Barry can manipulate a football is exceptional. He gets possession a lot because he can read the game.
“Barry can score goals and he can create them too.”
Like Robson, Forte made his ‘debut’ as a second-half substitute against Coventry City a week ago.
The striker, captured on loan from Southampton, progressed through United’s youth system before joining Scunthorpe in 2007.
“Jonathan is from Sheffield and he’s very passionate about this club,” Wilson added. “He’s knows what is expected every time you pull on a United jersey and go out in front of our fans.
“That extra incentive and spice could be key.”
Sixth placed United beat Town at Bramall Lane in August but Wilson said: “We’ve changed our dynamic. We’ve got a different dynamic to what they faced on the opening day because we’ve got different players.
“But we’ve got the same principles and this is a big game for both of us.”
