Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder reveals thoughts on Reading's players and fans after FA Cup win

Chris Wilder admits the tough nature of Tuesday’s FA Cup tie at Reading did not take Sheffield United by surprise as they booked their quarter-final berth.

Billy Sharp came off the bench to head an extra-time winner after David McGoldrick's second-minute header was cancelled out by George Puscas' penalty, awarded when George Baldock was adjudged to have fouled Andy Rinomhota.

Wilder made five changes to his side from last weekend's Premier League draw with Brighton and a number of them impressed, including Luke Freeman and Ben Osborn.

And Wilder said: "It was a tight game and a tough game, we knew that we knew it was going to be that way.

"They've got some talented players, I thought the Reading crowd was excellent as well, really inspired their players.

"We've prepared in the right way and we've found the way to win a tough cup tie."
