United confirmed on Monday that former owner Kevin McCabe had lost his bid to appeal a High Court judge's verdict last summer, that he should sell his 50 per cent share in the club to his former business partner Prince Abdullah.
After what the club described as more than two years of uncertainty over the ownership of the Premier League club, it now appears that United will continue onwards under the sole ownership of the Saudi prince - and that McCabe's long spell in the Bramall Lane boardroom is over.
"I've been consistent in my message," said boss Wilder.

"I'm sure neither Kevin nor Prince Abdullah would have wanted it to go down this road but it did.
"I stayed out of it and did my job. I'm employed by the football club and have got respect for both men.
"My job is to work for the club and with Prince Abdullah to move the club forward.
"I'm sure everyone will want me to do that, to the best of my ability."

"The Board is delighted that any lingering uncertainty about the Club's future ownership is at an end and that everyone at Sheffield United can now fully focus on what has, to date, been a fantastic first season back in the Premier League," it read.
Mr Justice Fancourt, who handed down the original decision last year, also ordered Prince Abdullah to buy United's property interests from McCabe before this summer.
"Prince Abdullah expects the transfer of the properties to be completed within a matter of months," the statement revealed, "and looks forward in particular to the Club being unified with its beloved home, Bramall Lane."
