Reiterating his desire to focus on fulfilling this term’s fixtures before worrying about how the 2020/21 campaign will unfold, Wilder was speaking as the country’s leading 20 clubs prepare to debate ‘Project Restart’ - the PL’s plan to resume competition next month - on Monday.

Wilder, whose side were seventh in the table when sport was suspended because of coronavirus in March, said: “I think we finish the season however long it takes. I’m a big believer that you can always reschedule next year. I think people understand what will happen if we null and void the season.”
