Mousset, a £10m signing from AFC Bournemouth, enters today’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion searching for his sixth goal since joining Chris Wilder’s squad during the close season.
Citing Chris Wilder’s influence as a factor behind his form - “He gives me a lot of confidence” - the Frenchman also highlighted McGoldrick, the Republic of Ireland forward, as another major influence.

“I am up the pitch and he’s more in the middle to make the play.
“We really enjoy it.
“The team and the manager are very good.
“I really like it here.
“It’s different to where I have been before.
“We are really together.”
Although Wilder will be encouraged by Mousset’s comments about United’s spirit behind the scenes, the 23-year-old’s praise for McGoldrick is likely to be particularly welcome.Despite having failed to find the back of the net since April - when his brace at Hull City effectively sealed United’s promotion from the Championship - Wilder and his coaching staff have been at pains to point out McGoldrick’s contribution to the club’s climb to seventh in the table.
“I have really enjoyed it,” Mousset said.
“I didn’t expected to have scored five goals but I’ve had the chances to score.

“I expect to get myself a lot more fitter.
“I set a goals target to myself, but I am trying to do more.”
“I believe we can do really well,” he added.
“Because of how everyone here is, how we are with each other.
“I’m loving it here and want to keep on getting even better.
“We love winning games and when we can’t win them, then we always try and draw.”
