Sheffield United line up January move for 12-goal striker, Arsenal ‘make contact’ with manager, and more
Sheffield United are back in Premier League action tonight against Newcastle United. The Blades hierarchy will have one eye on the January transfer window, as the club look to bolster the squad to aim for a solid end to the season. Sheffield United feature in today’s Premier League rumours, along with a number of other top-tier sides.
Sheffield United are reportedly monitoring Brentford hotshot Ollie Watkins, ahead of a potential January move to Bramall Lane.
Watkins has 12 goals and two assists in the Championship so far this season, and the Blades have previously been linked with a move for him.
The forward has again been touted as a potential new arrival for Chris Wilder’s side, who do have a history of bringing in promising players from the second tier.
Watkins has only recently been playing as a striker, and netted in Brentford’s 7-0 hammering of Luton Town at the weekend.
Sheffield United are currently flying high in the Premier League table, and sit in 8th place after 14 games, though are only two points behind 5th placed Crystal Palace.
