United have once again sold all their tickets for the clash, where they will face Marco Silva's men on Merseyside for the first time since 2011.

And the defender, who recently captained the Republic of Ireland national side for the first time, will make his sixth Premier League appearance of his career at Goodison.

"Every game is really tough in this league, especially going away to Everton - who are a well-established Premier League side and have been top-ten at least for a number of years," Egan said.

"We'll work on ourselves in the week, have a little look at them, and prepare how we always do. Then we'll go there with a gameplan to try and get the right result."

United's last away game saw them draw 2-2 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, before their 1-0 home reverse against Southampton last time out.

"They travel up and down the country and sell out away ends everywhere. Last year was my first taste of it at this club, properly, and we'd go down to London on a Tuesday night and the away end would be packed.

"The first game of the season was another long trip [Bournemouth] but we could have probably filled that stadium with just our fans, because they're that keen.

"It's always great to be backed by them and we're looking forward to Saturday. As always, when we're on the road, we want to give them something to shout about."
