Speaking on Match of the Day 2, following the Blades' 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, the former Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder lavished United with praise, contending: "They play some of the best football in the league...I'm enjoying watching them play more than anybody; they play great stuff."

Jeans went on to give his thoughts on Chris Wilder expressing his frustration with his side's lack of clinical finishing, and said: "He must have been really frustrated, they created so many chances, I felt like they dominated at least seventy minutes of this game.

"But that (wasting chances) is happening a little bit too much, where they're getting in great positions and not punishing teams, and you just knew that Wolves were going to get back into this game...punish them, have that killer instinct."

He concluded: "I think they just lack that little bit of extra quality and that killer instinct when they need it. They need to take games away from teams; today's a game they should have won."

Next up, United host Newcastle United at Bramall Lane, in the second match of a favourable run of December fixtures for the Blades.

The Magpies have, however, have lost just one game in their last five, and will head into Thursday evening's match full of confidence after their spirited 2-2 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
