Moore deputised for United’s No.1 Dean Henderson, who was ineligible to play against his parent club, and was powerless to prevent the visitors scoring three goals in a seven-minute spell to turn the game on its head after goals from John Fleck and Lys Mousset had put the Blades 2-0 ahead.

But a late goal from substitute Oli McBurnie rescued a deserved point for the hosts on a breathless evening at Bramall Lane.

And Moore said: “Although it was disappointing to concede three today, if you’d have told me three years ago when I joined this club that I would one day be making my Premier League debut against Manchester United, I wouldn’t have believed it.

“Thank you to my family and friends and to all the fans for their support this week, it means the world to be. UTB.”
