Sheffield United Women are set to team up with fellow Sheffield womens’ teams at Bramall Lane

Sheffield United Women are set to link up with women's basketball and ice-hockey teams to celebrate Sheffield women's sport.

Sheffield United Women are teaming up with Sheffield Hatters (basketball) and Sheffield Shadows (ice hockey) to celebrate women's sport across the city at their upcoming Barclays WSL2 match against Bristol City Women, as they look to bring together fans of women's football, basketball and ice hockey.

The action-packed event is taking place during the evening of Saturday 14th November at Bramall Lane, when the Blades host Bristol City Women.

Not only is the match part of the event, but there will be activities for the family such as a DJ, face painting, glitter tattoos and balloon modelling.

Food and drink will also be available in the concourse during the night.

Sheffield Hatters are the most successful female basketball club in the country, having just come off the back of an emphatic season, which set records for the side.

The Hatters completed a clean sweep across women's basketball in England, claiming all four titles that were up for grabs.

They were crowned SLBW (Super League Basketball Women's) League, Play-off and Cup champions, along with the Betty Cadona trophy, which was named after the mother of current coach Vanessa Ellis.

Sheffield Shadows compete in the Women's National Ice Hockey League and finished third in their division last season.

The club released the news on their website, saying, “Sheffield United Women are excited to bring together the three clubs, encourage fans to discover new sports and support the women who represent Sheffield on pitches, courts and rinks across the country.”

Sheffild United are back in action on Sunday following the international break as they have a League Cup tie at home to Nottingham Forest at the Attis Arena, Scunthorpe.

The Blades women lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich Town in WSL2 before the break, while Forest were 2-0 winners over Burnley.
