Fresh from officially announcing the arrivals of 17-year-old starlets Connor Leak-Blunt, formerly of Leeds United, and defender Kamarl Grant from Croydon FC, United have handed a two-year development contract to Josh Smith.

The news was broken by Smith's former club, Bracknell Town FC, who said in a statement: "Following a successful trial with Sheffield United, we're delighted to announce Josh has signed a two-year scholarship with the Premier League club."

Bracknell currently play in the Isthmian League South Central Division.
