Sheffield United: Ex-Premier League boss says top clubs should look at Chris Wilder - but Wilder should stay and build Blades into something special
Chris Wilder should be a target for top Premier League clubs – but the Sheffield United manager should think very carefully before ever leaving Bramall Lane, if the opportunity ever arose.
That’s the view of Ian Holloway, the former Blackpool boss in his column for The Sack Race, after media speculation linked Everton with a move for Wilder if they sack Marco Silva.
Other pundits have also put Wilder's name forward for jobs like Arsenal, after United’s impressive start to life in the Premier League.
And Holloway said: “Wilder deserves to be talked about. If he does want to step up then if I was one of the top clubs in the Premier League I would definitely be looking at him.

“If he can do what he’s currently doing with the level of players at Sheff United, then imagine what he could do somewhere else. It would be amazing to see.
“However, I would stress to Wilder: ‘Why ruin a good thing that you’ve got going at the moment?’
“It’s his hometown club. For him there’s no better job anywhere else in the world at the minute.
“It would be lovely if he stays there and builds the club into something special.”
